Search by the contractor's name, business name or license number, in our copy of the official state rosters. Every result links to the state's own lookup.

What a result shows

• The license number, type and status as the state's roster gives them.
• The expiry date, where the roster gives one. Some rosters stamp one renewal-cycle date on every license; we say so, rather than show it as the contractor's own date.
• The agency that issued the license, and a link to check it with that agency.
• The date the license was last on the roster in our copy.

If there's no match

Not being in our copy is not evidence that someone is unlicensed. Our copy can lag the state, and a license may be listed under another name, such as the owner's or the company's. Our copy also doesn't cover every state or every kind of license. Check with the state before drawing any conclusion.
